Potential Website Tabs/Categories

I checked out some other Al-Anon sites, including NYC’s and San Francisco’s pages. I drew inspiration from their layouts. I was thinking that we could categorize our site with the following Pages and drop down items.

  • Home = The trend on the sites I previewed was to keep the home page simple and inviting to newcomers who are considering Al-Anon. On our home page, there could be a high level description of Al-Anon or a welcoming quote to invite people to check out Al-Anon if they have been effected by another person’s drinking. Below that description, there could be a “find a meeting near me” window where interested people could type in their zip code to easily find a close meeting. (no drop down items)
  • About = Drop-downs for this section could include: FAQ, 12 Steps and 12 Traditions (very basic information for newcomers)
  • Alateen = This page could have a high-level description of Alateen with a calendar of Alateen meetings in District 5 (no drop down items).
  • Al-Anon Meetings = This page could include the Calendar of Al-Anon meetings (no drop down items).
  • Resources/Supplemental Resources = Drop-downs for this section could include: Books, Al-Anon Links, Published Member Shares, and Fun/Games (anything that is meant to provide support that is not a meeting or event)
  • Get Involved = Drop-downs for this section could include: Upcoming Events and a field for members to add a share.
  • Business = Drop-downs could include: Business Announcements, Meeting Minutes, District Rep Report, and WSO Meeting List.
