District 5 reminders, messages, current business, and projects

The Next District 5 business meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2015; from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The meeting will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 2685 Packard Road, Ann Arbor.  ALL Al-Anon members are welcome to attend!  Have you been to a District meeting before? Please consider checking this one out – new faces and new ideas are needed and will be welcome!

Reminder: Let’s always remember that the newcomer is the most important person at any meeting!  Our Fifth Tradition states, “Each Al-Anon Family Group has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps of AA ourselves, by encouraging and understanding our alcoholic relatives, and by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics.” Our Twelfth Step encourages us to “carry this message to others.” There are many ways our program reaches out to welcome family and friends of alcoholics – especially newcomers to our program. Most groups provide literature packets for newcomers, and have a “first Step”/beginner’s table for newcomers or hold a “first Step”/beginner’s meeting when newcomers attend their meeting.

Please contact us if you have Al-Anon/Alateen business or projects you would like to see posted here!

Mailing Information for Group Contributions

Our Seventh Tradition states that Al-Anon is a self-supporting program. Just as individual groups are sustained by voluntary member contributions, Al-Anon service is sustained on the District, Area (state) and World Service level by voluntary contributions from Al-Anon/Alateen groups. Groups who are able are encouraged to contribute to supporting Al-Anon service work on the district, area and World Service levels. Please include the number of your Al-Anon group on your check. Address District 5 group contributions to the following addresses.
